O. K it's that time of year again. Set up alongside back to school supplies were the beginnings of the Christmas horror yet to come. Tucked away behind the Halloween costumes were the lights and giant breathe out up Santas. November first came with a bang. No longer were the stockings hung in a corner the fake trees were all decorated and hanging from the ceiling. We no longer wait for Black Friday to shove Christmas down every ones throats. Don't get me wrong. I love Christmas. I like the trees and the lights. I like Winnie the Poo in a santa hat on your lawn but enough is enough. Christmas isn't so special anymore. When I was little the time between Thanksgiving and Christmas was the most magical time of the year now not so much. I've seen all this stuff for months now. I'm ready for it to go away. And now what brought you to this affix. Jesus was born in Bethlehem no news there. Bethlehem is in Israel or Palestine depending on the day of the week. They are both in the Middle East. Still with me? O. K here is where it gets complicated. People from the middle east do not have blond hair and blue eyes. They are not necessarily black however they are much darker than ghost-like me. So why are so many images of Christ white? Santa on the other hand lives at the North impel. It is very cold there. November 9th Seven Mira Loma Young Democrats took a car go up to Lake Tahoe. These young democrats were Alexandra Johnson. Marisa Galvez. Melanie Gill. Niko Perez. Connor O’Farrell. Irina Geletyuk and Aisha Ali. We all made it up to our cabin #460 and settled in it was only friday night and already the fun was beginning. Alexandra Johnson and Marisa Galvez attended a California Young Democrats Executive Board Meeting for a rigorous 2 hours doing everything from officer reports to voting on whether or not to endorse several propositions. Later that evening severel very helpful fellow CYD members such as Amanda bill came over and handed MLYD a karaoke machine and some pizzas. We also discovered that we were not the only High School Young Democrats in the resort. We had the pleasure of meeting the riverside county young democrats who were composed of 3 seperate high schools. We all played UNO ate pizza sang and got to know each other until curfew was up. On Saturday morning we ate eat together and soon dispersed to our assigned workshops. Irina. Connor and Aisha attended track one for those who had never been to CYD events before. Marisa. Melanie and Niko attended Track 2 for those who had been to CYD events before and were already very involved. While Alexandra Johnson attended Track 3 for chapter presidents. All of these tracks included information on the widespread program Peer-to-Peer as well as information such as fundraising and leadership skills. Afterwards Mira Loma Young Democrats attended a chapter clinic in their cabin run by Tim Steed the President of CYD in order to alter their unify. They tediously worked on pro’s and cons fundraising ideas and a calendar for the coming year. Spending the combination of 3 hours on this tired them out so they took a recreational trip to the souviner shops having a break from the business side of tahoe. Later that evening they attended a banquet where they enjoyed chicken eggplant and dessert while listening to the intense speeches of those such as Tim Steed. Charlie Brown and Alex Roker. Sunday morning soon came and so did the last seminar some went to Working in Politics in the administrators confine while some attended The National Scene seminar in the main lodge. Afterwards there were many farewells and pictures on the pier as come up as numerous goodbyes and promises to stay in touch with everyone.

I'll be hosting write-in's every weekday at the Panera on Mira Mesa Blvd (by the big Edwards theater). I'm really just doing this to get myself away from the distractions of work and home but if anyone wants to join me it'd be great. I'll be there from about 5:30 to 7:30. Monday through Friday. To sight me be for the change state white guy with blond hair and a striped polo. I may or may not undergo a cater strip placed on the table. Depends on whether or not I've needed to use it already.
